I have found that getting my grandson outdoors and playing baseball (or any other sport) teaches him team spirit and burns off that extra energy that would other wise be spent destroying my home.
Boy Scouts is another great idea that teaches him valuable morals and values. He enjoys making crafts, biking, hiking, and camping. All of which can be found at your local Boy Scout Troop!

How would I find out where a local Boy Scout Troop meets? Are they in schools? Do they have a website? Enquiring minds want to know.

I found my grandson's Boy Scout Troop by looking in my local phone book under "Boy Scouts" in the business section. I phoned the number and they hooked me up with a troop that was nearest to my home and it has been nothing but fun since then. They do have a web site www.scouting.org for additional information. If you have a younger child (below fifth grade I believe) there is also a site www.joincubsouting.org.

I read the topic and immediately thought "Scouts"! I was pleased to see positive experiences with scouts from others in this thread. Our Cub Scout pack sent flyers home with all the boys in the elementary school. We have a very active pack & great den leaders. (They didn't even realize at first that I was grandma, not mom!)
